Cure Dandruff Naturally!
Dandruff is a common problem affects 50 percent of the worlds population at any given time. It is has been reported that 97 percent of all Americans have suffered from dandruff at least some time in their life. Dandruff can strike at any time and at any age, but it is most commonly found in young adults who are in their twenties or thirties. Most people deal with dandruff by forking over their hard earned cash for an anti-dandruff shampoos that usually contain chemicals such as Salicylic acid, which kills off the fungus that causes the flaking and itching. However, did you know that there are a plethora of home remedies out there that are just as effective at treating dandruff?
Vinegar and water may be one of the best ways to go about curing dandruff. Mix 2 teaspoons of vinegar with 6 teaspoons of water and rub it into your scalp before you go to bed. Wrap a towel around your head and then go to sleep. Rinse your head with another vinegar and water solution the next morning. If you keep this up for a few months, your dandruff problems will disappear. A mixture of 2 to 1 vinegar and lemon juice solution massaged into your scalp followed up by a egg shampoo treatment will also help in your daily dandruff fight. You can also wash your hair with warm apple cider vinegar and then rinse with plain water after 30 to 40 minutes. Don’t worry the vinegar smell will eventually evaporate.
Take 1 part sulfur powder, 2 parts rubbing alcohol, 1 part almond oil and 4 parts rose water, or distilled water, mix them together and rub this concoction on your scalp to keep dandruff away. Olive oil mixed with almond oil also works. Just rub it in until you feel a slight burning sensation then thoroughly wash it out. Or, you can boil 4 to 5 pieces of dried thyme in two cups of water for ten minutes and then rub it into you scalp after the mixture cools. Your scalp will be dandruff free upon washing it out.
Take some ground fenugreek seed and soak them in some water overnight, then apply the resulting paste to your head, washing afterwards with a mild shampoo. Another good dandruff remedy is a tablespoon of fresh squeezed lemon juice combined with 100 grams of witch hazel and 200 ml of water. Apply this on your hair after washing.
A couple of crushed aspirin tablets added to your shampoo can also help alleviate the dreaded dandruff. Just leave the mixture in for a few minutes than wash it out, making sure you get all the particles. Not only will this help control your dandruff, but it might also help with headaches!
The miraculous little Aloe Vera plant is also effective at fighting dandruff. Before you wash your hair, apply the inner gel of the Aloe plant to your scalp and leave in for 10 to 15 minutes. Using Aloe on a regular basis will help keep keep the fungus that causes dandruff from growing out of control.
While these various remedies might take some time and do not work for everybody, it is nice to know that there are so many natural options out there that will help you fight dandruff. With so many options, you can be sure to pick the solution that think will work best for you. Be patient and give it a few weeks, before you decide to try another one.
